- From "And they didª° so,¹ and brought forthª°¹ those¹ fiveª kingsª unto¹ him out of¹ the cave,ª¹ the kingª of Jerusalem,ª¹ the kingª of Hebron,ª¹ the kingª of Jarmuth,ª¹ the kingª of Lachish,ª [and]¹ the kingª of Eglon.ª" {Jsh 10:23}, we learn that the king of Hebron was one of the five whom Joshua slew and hanged on five trees at Makkedah. This slaying of the king of Hebron, therefore, must either refer to what had already been done, or the Hebronites had set up another, whom Joshua now slew when he took the city.
