"Blessedª [is] the manª that¹ walkethª° not¹ in the counselª of the ungodly,ª nor¹ standethª° in the wayª of sinners,ª nor¹ sittethª° in the seatª of the scornful.ª° ... But¹¹ his delightª [is] in the lawª of the LORD;ª and in his lawª doth he meditateª° dayª and night.ª" {Psa 1:1-2} + "Through desireª a man, having separated²° himself,¹ seekethª° [and] intermeddlethª° with all¹ wisdom.ª" {Prv 18:1} + "Whereforeª come outª° fromª amongª them,ª andª be ye separate,ª° saithª° the Lord,ª andª touchª° notª the uncleanª [thing]; and² I¹ will receiveª° you,ª" {2Co 6:17}; On this verse remark, that the clean beast must both chew the cud and part the hoof. Two distinct characteristics, or general signs, by which the possibility of error arising from the misinterpretation of names is obviated. When God directs, his commands are not of doubtful interpretation.
