- thirteen young bullocks:
- "And ye shall offerª° a burnt offeringª for a sweetª savourª unto the LORD;ª oneª youngª¹ bullock,ª oneª ram,ª [and] sevenª lambsª of the firstª yearª without blemish:ª" {Num 29:2} + "But ye shall offerª° a burnt offeringª unto the LORDª [for] a sweetª savour;ª oneª youngª¹ bullock,ª oneª ram,ª [and] sevenª lambsª of the firstª year;ª they shall be¹ unto you without blemish:ª" {Num 29:8} + "And in the beginningsª of your monthsª ye shall offerª° a burnt offeringª unto the LORD;ª twoª youngª¹ bullocks,ª and oneª ram,ª sevenª lambsª of the firstª yearª without spot;ª" {Num 28:11} + "But ye shall offerª° a sacrifice made by fireª [for] a burnt offeringª unto the LORD;ª twoª youngª¹ bullocks,ª and oneª ram,ª and sevenª lambsª of the firstª year:ª they shall be¹ unto you without blemish:ª" {Num 28:19} + "But ye shall offerª° the burnt offeringª for a sweetª savourª unto the LORD;ª twoª youngª¹ bullocks,ª oneª ram,ª sevenª lambsª of the firstª year;ª" {Num 28:27} + "They keptª° also¹ the feastª of tabernacles,ª as [it is] written,ª° and [offered] the dailyª burnt offeringsª by number,ª according to the custom,ª as the dutyª of every dayª required;²" {Ezr 3:4} + "Butª this man,ª after he had offeredª° oneª sacrificeª forª sinsª for² ever,ª¹ sat downª° onª the right handª of God;ª ... Forª by oneª offeringª he hath perfectedª° for² everª¹ them that are sanctified.ª°" {Hbr 10:12-14}; At this feast thirteen bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs, were to be offered. It is worthy of remark, that in each of the seven days of this feast one bullock is to be abated, so that on the seventh day ("And on the seventhª dayª sevenª bullocks,ª twoª rams,ª [and] fourteenªª lambsª of the firstª yearª without blemish:ª" {Num 29:32}) they were to offer seven bullocks, but the rams and lambs were every day alike; which appointment might signify a diminishing and wearing away of the legal offerings, to lead them to the spiritual and reasonable service, by presenting their own bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto God. "I beseechª° youª therefore,ª brethren,ª byª the¹ merciesª of God,ª that ye presentª° yourª bodiesª a livingª° sacrifice,ª holy,ª acceptableª unto God,ª [which is] yourª reasonableª service.ª" {Rom 12:1}
