It seems to be intimated in "So they gat upª° from¹¹ the tabernacleª of Korah,ª Dathan,ª and Abiram,ª on every side:ª¹ and Dathanª and Abiramª came out,ª° and stoodª° in the doorª of their tents,ª and their wives,ª and their sons,ª and their little children.ª" {Num 16:27} + "And it came to pass,¹ as he had made an endª° of speakingª°¹ all¹ these¹ words,ª that the groundª clave asunderª° that¹ [was] under¹ them: ... They,¹ and all¹ that¹ [appertained] to them, went downª° aliveª into the pit,ª and the earthª closedª° upon¹ them: and they perishedª° from amongª¹ the congregation.ª" {Num 16:31-33}, that the sons and the little ones of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, were swallowed up; but the text here expressly affirms, that the children of Korah "died not;" and their descendants were famous even in David's time. On a close inspection, however, of "These¹ [are] the familiesª of the Zebulunitesª according to those that were numberedª° of them, threescoreª thousandª and fiveª hundred.ª" {Num 26:27}, we shall find, that the sons and the little ones of Dathan and Abiram alone are mentioned. "And he spakeª° unto¹ Korahª and unto¹ all¹ his company,ª saying,ª° Even to morrowª the LORDª will shewª°¹ who¹ [are] his, and [who is] holy;ª and will cause [him] to come nearª° unto¹ him: even [him] whom¹ he hath chosenª° will he cause to come nearª° unto¹ him." {Num 16:5} + "And the sonsª of Korah;ª Assir,ª and Elkanah,ª and Abiasaph:ª these¹ [are] the familiesª of the Korhites.ª" {Exd 6:24} + "The sonsª of Kohath;ª Amminadabª his son,ª Korahª his son,ª Assirª his son,ª ... And the sonsª of Samuel;ª the firstbornª Vashni,ª and Abiah.ª" {1Ch 6:22-28} + "[[To the chief Musician,ª° Maschil,ª° for the sonsª of Korah.]]ª As the hartª pantethª° after¹ the waterª brooks,ª so¹ pantethª° my soulª after¹ thee, O God.ª" {Psa 42:1} + "[[To the chief Musicianª° for the sonsª of Korah,ª Maschil.]]ª° We have heardª° with our ears,ª O God,ª our fathersª have toldª° us, [what] workª thou didstª° in their days,ª in the timesª of old.ª" {Psa 44:1} + "[[To the chief Musicianª° upon¹ Shoshannim,ª for the sonsª of Korah,ª Maschil,ª° A Songª of loves.]]ª My heartª is inditingª° a goodª matter:ª I¹ speakª° of the things which I have madeª touching the king:ª my tongueª [is] the penª of a readyª writer.ª°" {Psa 45:1} + "[[To the chief Musicianª° for the sonsª of Korah,ª A Songª upon¹ Alamoth.]]ª Godª [is] our refugeª and strength,ª a veryª presentª° helpª in trouble.ª" {Psa 46:1} + "[[To the chief Musician,ª° A Psalmª for the sonsª of Korah.]]ª O clapª° your hands,ª all¹ ye people;ª shoutª° unto Godª with the voiceª of triumph.ª" {Psa 47:1} *titles "[[A Songª [and] Psalmª for the sonsª of Korah.]]ª Greatª [is] the LORD,ª and greatlyª to be praisedª° in the cityª of our God,ª [in] the mountainª of his holiness.ª" {Psa 48:1} + "[[To the chief Musician,ª° A Psalmª for the sonsª of Korah.]]ª Hearª° this,¹ all¹ [ye] people;ª give ear,ª° all¹ [ye] inhabitantsª° of the world:ª" {Psa 49:1} + "[[A Psalmª of Asaph.]]ª The mightyª God,ª [even] the LORD,ª hath spoken,ª° and calledª° the earthª from the risingª¹ of the sunª unto¹ the going downª thereof." {Psa 50:1} *titles |
