{Numbers 4:16} And to the office 6486 of Eleazar 499 the son 1121 of Aaron 175 the priest 3548 [pertaineth] the oil 8081 for the light, 3974 and the sweet 5561 incense, 7004 and the daily 8548 meat offering, 4503 and the anointing 4888 oil, 8081 [and] the oversight 6486 of all x3605 the tabernacle, 4908 and of all x3605 that x834 therein [is], in the sanctuary, 6944 and in the vessels 3627 thereof.

the office:
Eleazar himself, perhaps with the other priests, was required to carry the oil for the light, the incense, and the flour for the daily meat offering, and the holy ointment; besides superintending the Levites. It may be supposed, that he himself carried no more of the oil than for present use (see note on "And they shall takeª ° a clothª of blue,ª and coverª °¹ the candlestickª of the light,ª and his lamps,ª and his tongs,ª and his snuffdishes,ª and all¹ the oilª vesselsª thereof, wherewith¹ they ministerª ° unto it:" {Num 4:9}). "And Eleazarª the sonª of Aaronª the priestª [shall be] chiefª over the chiefª of the Levites,ª [and have] the oversightª of them that keepª ° the chargeª of the sanctuary.ª" {Num 3:32}

the oil:
"Oilª for the light,ª spicesª for anointingª oil,ª and for sweetª incense,ª" {Exd 25:6} + "And thou¹ shalt commandª °¹ the childrenª of Israel,ª that they bringª °¹ thee pureª oilª oliveª beatenª for the light,ª to cause the lampª to burnª ° always.ª ... In the tabernacleª of the congregationª withoutª ¹ the vail,ª which¹ [is] before¹ the testimony,ª Aaronª and his sonsª shall orderª ° it from eveningª ¹ to¹ morningª beforeª the LORD:ª [it shall be] a statuteª for everª unto their generationsª on the behalf¹ ¹ of the childrenª of Israel.ª" {Exd 27:20-21} + "Commandª °¹ the childrenª of Israel,ª that they bringª ° unto¹ thee pureª oilª oliveª beatenª for the light,ª to cause the lampsª to burnª ° continually.ª" {Lev 24:2}

the sweet:
"And the LORDª saidª ° unto¹ Moses,ª Takeª ° unto thee sweet spices,ª stacte,ª and onycha,ª and galbanum;ª [these] sweet² spicesª with pureª frankincense:ª of eachª shall there be¹ a likeª [weight]: ... Whosoeverª ª shall makeª ° like unto that,¹ to smellª ° thereto, shall even be cut offª ° from his people.ª ¹" {Exd 30:34-38} + "And he madeª °¹ the holyª anointingª oil,ª and the pureª incenseª of sweet spices,ª according to the workª of the apothecary.ª °" {Exd 37:29}

the daily:
"¹ The oneª lambª thou shalt offerª ° in the morning;ª and the otherª lambª thou shalt offerª ° at¹ even:ª ... And the otherª lambª thou shalt offerª ° at¹ even,ª and shalt doª ° thereto according to the meat offeringª of the morning,ª and according to the drink offeringª thereof, for a sweetª savour,ª an offering made by fireª unto the LORD.ª" {Exd 29:39-41}

the anointing:
"Takeª ° thou¹ also unto thee principalª spices,ª of pureª myrrhª fiveª hundredª [shekels], and of sweetª cinnamonª half² so much,ª [even] two hundredª and fiftyª [shekels], and of sweetª calamusª two hundredª and fiftyª [shekels], ... Whosoeverª ª compoundethª ° [any] like it,¹ or whosoever¹ puttethª ° [any] of¹ it upon¹ a stranger,ª ° shall even be cut² ° off¹ from his people.ª ¹" {Exd 30:23-33}

the oversight:
