A jubilee:
Respecting the literal meaning of the word יובל, yobel, or yovel, critics are not agreed. The most natural derivation of the word seems to be from הוביל, hovil, the Hiphil form of יבל, yaval, to recall, restore, or bring back, because this year restored all slaves to their liberty, and brought back all alienated estates to their primitive owners. Accordingly the LXX render it here αφεσις, a "remission"; and Josephus says it signifies ελευθεριαν, liberty. "If¹ he sanctifyª ° his fieldª from the yearª ¹ of jubile,ª according to thy estimationª it shall stand.ª °" {Lev 27:17}

ye shall:
"¹ That which groweth of its own accordª of thy harvestª thou shalt not¹ reap,ª ° neither¹ gatherª ° the grapesª of thy vine undressed:ª [for] it is¹ a yearª of restª unto the land.ª ... And for thy cattle,ª and for the beastª that¹ [are] in thy land,ª shall all¹ the increaseª thereof be¹ meat.ª °" {Lev 25:5-7}
