- "And no¹¹ sin offering,ª whereof¹ [any] of the bloodª¹ is broughtª° into¹ the tabernacleª of the congregationª to reconcileª° [withal] in the holyª [place], shall be eaten:ª° it shall be burntª° in the fire.ª" {Lev 6:30} + "And when he hath made an endª° of reconcilingª°¹¹ the holyª [place], and the tabernacleª of the congregation,ª and the altar,ª he shall bringª°¹ the liveª goat:ª" {Lev 16:20} + "And the priestsª killedª° them, and they made reconciliationª° with¹ their bloodª upon the altar,ª to make an atonementª° for¹ all¹ Israel:ª for¹ the kingª commandedª° [that] the burnt offeringª and the sin offeringª [should be made] for all¹ Israel.ª" {2Ch 29:24} + "And so¹ thou shalt doª° the seventhª [day] of the monthª for every oneª¹ that erreth,ª° and for [him that is] simple:ª¹ so shall ye reconcileª°¹ the house.ª" {Ezk 45:20} + "Seventyª weeksª are determinedª° upon¹ thy peopleª and upon¹ thy holyª city,ª to finishª° the transgression,ª and to make an endª²°°° of sins,ª and to make reconciliationª° for iniquity,ª and to bring inª° everlastingª righteousness,ª and to seal upª° the visionª and prophecy,ª and to anointª° the most² Holy.ª" {Dan 9:24} + "Forª if,ª when we wereª° enemies,ª we were reconciledª° to Godª byª the¹ deathª of his²¹ Son,ª muchª more,ª being reconciled,ª° we shall be savedª° byª his²¹ life.ª" {Rom 5:10} + "Andª all thingsª [are] ofª God,ª who² hath reconciledª° usª to himselfª byª Jesusª Christ,ª andª hath givenª° to usª the¹ ministryª of reconciliation;ª ... Forª he hath madeª° him [to be] sinª forª us,ª who² knewª° noª sin;ª thatª weª might be madeª° the righteousnessª of Godª inª him.ª" {2Co 5:18-21} + "Andª that he might reconcileª° bothª unto Godª inª oneª bodyª byª the¹ cross,ª having slainª° the¹ enmityª thereby:ªª" {Eph 2:16} + "Andª you,ª that wereª° sometimeª alienatedª° andª enemiesª in [your] mindª byª wickedª works,ª yetª nowª hath he reconciledª° ... Inª the¹ bodyª of his²¹ fleshª throughª death,ª to presentª° youª holyª andª unblameableª andª unreproveableª in his² sight:ª¹" {Col 1:21-22} + "Whereforeª inª all thingsª it behoved¹ him²° to be made like²° unto¹ [his] brethren,ª thatª he might beª° a mercifulª andª faithfulª high priestª in things¹ [pertaining] to² God,ª to² make reconciliation forª° the¹ sinsª of the¹ people.ª" {Hbr 2:17}; The beginning of this verse may be rendered, "And Moses slew it, and took the blood," etc. We find it expressly said in Exodus, that Moses slew the sacrifices. "And thou shalt killª°¹ the bullockª beforeª the LORD,ª [by] the doorª of the tabernacleª of the congregation.ª" {Exd 29:11}; Yet, in general, the offerer seems to have killed his own sacrifice.
