- "And the sonsª of Aaronª the priestª shall putª° fireª upon¹ the altar,ª and lay the wood² in orderª°¹ upon¹ the fire:ª ... But his inwardsª and his legsª shall he washª° in water:ª and the priestª shall burnª°¹ all¹ on the altar,ª [to be] a burnt sacrifice,ª an offering made by fire,ª of a sweetª savourª unto the LORD.ª" {Lev 1:7-9} + "And he shall offerª° of the sacrificeª¹ of the peace offeringª an offering made by fireª unto the LORD;ª¹ the fatª that coverethª°¹ the inwards,ª and all¹ the fatª that¹ [is] upon¹ the inwards,ª ... And Aaron'sª sonsª shall burnª° it on the altarª upon¹ the burnt sacrifice,ª which¹ [is] upon¹ the woodª that¹ [is] on¹ the fire:ª [it is] an offering made by fire,ª of a sweetª savourª unto the LORD.ª" {Lev 3:3-5} + "And he shall offerª° of the sacrificeª¹ of the peace offeringª an offering made by fireª unto the LORD;ª the fatª thereof, [and] the wholeª rump,ª it shall he take offª° hard² by¹ the backbone;ª and the fatª that coverethª°¹ the inwards,ª and all¹ the fatª that¹ [is] upon¹ the inwards,ª ... And the priestª shall burnª° them upon the altar:ª [it is] the foodª of the offering made by fireª for a sweetª savour:ª all¹ the fatª [is] the LORD'S.ª" {Lev 3:14-16} + "Now this¹ [is that] which¹ thou shalt offerª° upon¹ the altar;ª twoª lambsª of the firstª yearª day² by dayª continually.ª ... [This shall be] a continualª burnt offeringª throughout your generationsª [at] the doorª of the tabernacleª of the congregationª beforeª the LORD:ª where¹¹ I will meetª° you, to speakª° there¹ unto¹ thee." {Exd 29:38-42} + "And for the woodª offering,ª at timesª appointed,ª° and for the firstfruits.ª Rememberª° me, O my God,ª for good.ª" {Neh 13:31}; The efficacy of the priesthood and mediation of Christ is perpetual, and we can never approach to God in his name, by day or night, unseasonably. The ministers of Christ should have the fire of their zeal constantly burning.
