a soul sin:
This case is supposed to differ from the preceding, merely in that the person concerned was not certain whether he had or had not committed the trespass. It is therefore called by the Hebrews a doubtful trespass offering. "And if¹ a soulª sin,ª° and hearª° the voiceª of swearing,ª and [is] a witness,ª whetherª he hath seenª° or¹ knownª° [of it]; if¹ he do not¹ utterª° [it], then he shall bearª° his iniquity.ª" {Lev 5:1} + "Speakª° unto¹ the childrenª of Israel,ª saying,ª° If¹ a soulª shall sinª° through ignoranceª against any¹¹ of the commandmentsª of the LORDª [concerning things] which¹ ought not¹ to be done,ª° and shall doª° against anyª¹ of them:ª¹ ... yet is he:
