Onyx stones:
"And thou shalt takeª °¹ twoª onyxª stones,ª and graveª ° on¹ them the namesª of the childrenª of Israel:ª ... And the stonesª shall be¹ with¹ the namesª of the childrenª of Israel,ª twelve,ª ª according to¹ their names,ª [like] the engravingsª of a signet;ª every oneª with¹ his nameª shall they be¹ according to the twelveª ª tribes.ª" {Exd 28:9-21}

ephod:
