of an ass:
"But the firstlingª of an assª thou shalt redeemª ° with a lamb:ª and if¹ thou redeemª ° [him] not,¹ then shalt thou break his neck.ª ° All¹ the firstbornª of thy sonsª thou shalt redeem.ª ° And none¹ shall appearª ° beforeª me empty.ª" {Exd 34:20} + "Every thing¹ that openethª the matrixª in all¹ flesh,ª which¹ they bringª ° unto the LORD,ª [whether it be] of menª or beasts,ª shall be¹ thine: nevertheless¹ ¹ the firstbornª of manª shalt thou surely² ° redeem,ª ° and the firstlingª of uncleanª beastsª shalt thou redeem.ª ° ... But¹ the firstlingª of a cow,ª or¹ the firstlingª of a sheep,ª or¹ the firstlingª of a goat,ª thou shalt not¹ redeem;ª ° they¹ [are] holy:ª thou shalt sprinkleª °¹ their bloodª upon¹ the altar,ª and shalt burnª ° their fatª [for] an offering made by fire,ª for a sweetª savourª unto the LORD.ª" {Num 18:15-17}

or, kid, "Speakª ° ye unto¹ all¹ the congregationª of Israel,ª saying,ª ° In the tenthª [day] of this¹ monthª they shall takeª ° to them every manª a lamb,ª according to the houseª of [their] fathers,ª a lambª for an house:ª" {Exd 12:3} + "Then Mosesª calledª ° for all¹ the eldersª of Israel,ª and saidª ° unto¹ them, Draw outª ° and takeª ° you a lambª according to your families,ª and killª ° the passover.ª" {Exd 12:21}

shalt thou:
"And for those that are to be redeemed² ¹ of the two hundredª and threescore and thirteenª ª of the firstbornª ¹ of the childrenª of Israel,ª which are moreª ° thanª the Levites;ª ...
