the locusts:

very grievous:
"And they shall coverª °¹ the faceª of the earth,ª that one cannot¹ be ableª ° to seeª °¹ the earth:ª and they shall eatª °¹ the residueª of that which is escaped,ª which remainethª ° unto you from¹ the hail,ª and shall eatª °¹ every¹ treeª which growethª ° for you out of¹ the field:ª" {Exd 10:5} + "Hearª ° this,¹ ye old men,ª and give ear,ª ° all¹ ye inhabitantsª ° of the land.ª Hath this¹ been¹ in your days,ª or evenª in the daysª of your fathers?ª ...
