Amram:
"And there went² °¹ a manª of the houseª ¹ of Levi,ª and tookª ° [to wife] a¹ daughterª of Levi.ª ... And the womanª conceived,ª ° and bareª ° a son:ª and when she sawª ° him that¹ he¹ [was a] goodlyª [child], she hidª ° him threeª months.ª" {Exd 2:1-2} + "And the nameª of Amram'sª wifeª [was] Jochebed,ª the daughterª of Levi,ª whom¹ [her mother] bareª ° to Leviª in Egypt:ª and she bareª ° unto Amramª ¹ Aaronª and Moses,ª and Miriamª their sister.ª" {Num 26:59}

The Samaritan, LXX, Syriac, and one Hebrew manuscript add, "And Miriam their sister;" which some of the best critics suppose to have been originally in the text. "And these¹ [are] the namesª of the sonsª of Leviª according to their generations;ª Gershon,ª and Kohath,ª and Merari:ª and the yearsª of the lifeª of Leviª [were] an hundredª thirtyª and sevenª years.ª" {Exd 6:16} + "And the sonsª of Kohath;ª Amram,ª and Izhar,ª and Hebron,ª and Uzziel:ª and the yearsª of the lifeª of Kohathª [were] an hundredª thirtyª and threeª years.ª" {Exd 6:18}
