"But¹ thou shalt go² °¹ unto¹ my country,ª and to¹ my kindred,ª and takeª ° a wifeª unto my sonª Isaac.ª" {Gen 24:4} + "Now the LORDª had saidª ° unto¹ Abram,ª Get thee out² °¹ of thy country,ª ¹ and from thy kindred,ª ¹ and from thy father's² house,ª ¹ ¹ unto¹ a landª that¹ I will shewª ° thee:" {Gen 12:1}

my father's:
i.e., Where the family of Haran his brother had settled; and where he himself had remained some time with his father Terah. Nahor did not dwell at Ur of the Chaldees, but at Haran in Mesopotamia. The true worship of God seems to have been in some measure preserved in this family, though afterwards corrupted. "And Labanª wentª ° to shearª °¹ his sheep:ª and Rachelª had stolenª °¹ the imagesª that¹ [were] her father's.ª" {Gen 31:19}
