- Iscah:
- Iscah is called the daughter-in-law of Terah ("And Terahª tookª°¹ Abramª his son,ª and Lotª the sonª of Haranª his son'sª son,ª and Saraiª his daughter in law,ª his sonª Abram'sª wife;ª and they went forthª° with¹ them from Urª¹ of the Chaldees,ª to go²°¹ into the landª of Canaan;ª and they cameª° unto¹ Haran,ª and dweltª° there.¹" {Gen 11:31}), as being Abram's wife; yet Abram afterwards said, "she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother" ("And yet¹ indeedª [she is] my sister;ª she¹ [is] the daughterª of my father,ª but¹ not¹ the daughterª of my mother;ª and she became¹ my wife.ª" {Gen 20:12}). Probably Haran was the eldest son of Terah, and Abram his youngest by another wife; and thus Sarai was the daughter, or grand-daughter of Terah, Abram's father, but not of his mother.
